Sunday, sweet Sunday! It’s supposed to be a day of rest, but for those who have followed this journey so far, understand that ‘rest’ of a Sunday, is a very relative term. All the ‘resting’ on this particular Sunday, has been done - and some activities occurred as well...
Generally, I don’t go to the gym on this day - but I couldn’t help feeling that perhaps a slight amount of cardio, just a step or two on the treadmill, would be beneficial - since, as I mentioned yesterday, I thought I was getting a bit lax. Well, a good 35 minutes got done - and of course, I couldn’t leave without a pull-up or two - I mean, I was already there. Why not, eh?
Anyway, I was thinking about writing something ‘original’ today but given the lateness of the hour (it is Sunday, after all), I thought I might drag out some old piece of doggerel I wrote at the tender age of about 14.
I was always a ‘magical’ sort of young person and on one end of my literary spectrum was Lewis Carroll, while at the other - the delicious Mr. Poe - and Theodor Geisel helped bridge the rather large gap between them.
This particular piece owes its origins mostly to Carroll - format, only.

One further note - it might not be exact, as I am trying to recall it from memory - and it was a long time ago that I wrote it!
Moon shining silver
On the rivers and the streams,Many tiny children
Are away in lands of dreams.
Nothing stirs the beauty
During night’s silver sleep,
Daylight slowly comes
As the moon sinks deep.
Director of the warmth
In the clear blue sky,
Love built a chariot
Of the sun’s golden eye.
Valley rivers run
Every animal gives thanks,
Yesterday lies silent
On the morning’s golden banks.
Ushers of the seasons
Do not tarry on your way,
Avow your perfect reasons,
Voice your glorious display!
(It’s not a physical description
Dealing only with the art,
What I’ve said lies fathoms deeper,
Coming closer to your heart!)
I wouldn’t normally divide it up that way, but for those unaccustomed to the format, I tried to make it easier to decipher, if you will.
Anyway, that’s our entry for tonight.
I hope you enjoy it - and have a pleasant sleep!
Ciao a tutti!
